Do you know what I love most about Christmas?
How incredibly accessible it is to children.
I mean – if ever a holiday screamed, “This one’s for the kids!” – it’s Christmas.
The lights, the trees, the colors, the parties, the parades, the GIFTS . . . Christmas is as good as a birthday for every little girl and boy, a birthday celebration made personal on Christmas morning when they (hopefully) see gifts . . . just for them . . . under the tree.
I know we spend a lot of time decrying commercialism during this time of year, and certainly that is rampant and unabated. But if you can look past the criticism of the holiday, you’ll see that God is at work in the details . . . even the loud and busy details . . . saying, “Let the children come to me!” (Matthew 19:14)
Do not stop them!
Happy Celebrating!
P.S. If you know of a great way to bless children at Christmas time, please leave your ideas in the comments.
