Dear Friends,
A tricky thing about being a woman (or maybe a human) is discerning when we have traded in our need to love and be loved for connection and acceptance. The frantic pace of our obligations and the gadgets at our fingertips can dull the deep needs of our soul until we begin to believe that table scraps are a meal. This, of course, opens us up to all sorts of exploitation from those who know how to bribe the hungry.
If you are in this dangerous territory, I am praying that you would identify your deep hunger and return to the feast set before you by your Heavenly Father. As you warm to His presence and begin to eat from his table, I pray that you would be open to the pruning of your relationships until your life overflows with goodness and choice fruits.
In His Name,
Luke 15:20-24: “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
John 15:12-14: 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
John 15:1-5: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
